At present, the system of banking sector in Chinese mainland maintains a pattern in which commercial banks act as the mainstay. In recent years, indirect financing provided by commercial banks have accounted for seventy percent of the total amount of financing in Chinese mainland, presenting a tendency of growth year after year. The liabilities of Chinese mainland commercial banks mainly come from deposits and then form the assets by loans. The interest difference between deposits and loans is their major source to gain profits, which accounts for seventy percent of their total profits. As the expectation of the raising of interest rate increased in 2004, the issue of commercial banks’ profitability becomes a focus.
