Presently, there are 13 national commercial banks in China, and they are approved to engage in the commercial bank business all over China. Generally, they devote themselves into the developed zones, and increase the market shares via providing the innovative products as well as serving the high-quality clients.

Bank of Communications has more than 650 thousand company or institutional clients, and most of which are distributed in YRD, Bohai Rim and PRD, China's most developed zones in terms of economy.

By Dec 31, 2006, Bank of Communications has had 174.7 thousand personal clients with more than RMB 500 thousand deposits (including saving, national debt and fund).

By Dec 31, 2006, the distribution network of Bank of Communications has extended to 91 branches in 143 cities (including 35 provincial branches and 56 province controlled branches), 2304 sub-branches (including 4 province controlled sub-branches and 2300 sub-branches), and 232 other networks (including offices, sub-offices and saving offices) across China.
