The report sums up the development of the global and Chinese broadband network industries in 2004 and reveals the features of the various links of China's broadband network industry chain. It also analyzes the pattern of competition in China's broadband network industry and makes a comprehensive evaluation of the competitiveness of leading equipment vendors, broadband operators and CP/SPs, respectively.

The report especially points out the following: In 2004, the center of gravity of China's broadband network industry shifted from base network building to broadband applications. There was a further rise in the concentration of broadband network equipment supplies in the market and competition gradually stabilized. Broadband operators were in different market development stages. There was a high degree of regional monopoly and different operators had different development plans. There were a great number of competitors in the broadband application content supply market, but most SPs made only low profits. There was a rather monopolistic cooperation model between SPs and broadband operators. Public users and enterprise users had very different demand preferences. Broadband operators needed to expand their product and service lines and provide different types of products and services.

Based on an in-depth analysis of major factors affecting the development of China's broadband network industry from 2005 to 2009, the report presents qualitative and quantitative forecast of the development trend of the market. Finally, it provides pertinent development strategies and recommendations for the equipment vendors, broadband operators and CP/SPs, respectively.
