The Renault-Nissan Alliance, under the leadership of Carlos Ghosn, is the number one automotive group in terms of all-electric car sales.
According to the summary for year 2014, The Alliance sold 8,470,610 cars, including 82,602 electric vehicles. A quick conversion give us a number of almost 1% being BEVs, with five years to go to hit the original goal of 10%.
Sales of BEVs for The Alliance went up 24% last year, while market share hit 56% globally out of all BEVs sold.
Nissan LEAF, with 61,507 sales worldwide, is way ahead of the 17,813 sales of Renault’s EVs, although Renault sells mostly in Europe.
The total number of electric cars sold by the RenaultNissan Alliance since December 2010 through the end of 2014 is 217,365.
