In Jan-Apr 2007, the sales volume of heavy trucks in China grew by 60.1% from a year earlier, among which, the sales volume of semi-trailer towing vehicle, heavy duty truck and second kind of chassis vehicles increased by 129.7%, 44.2% and 31.9% respectively compared to the same period last year.
In April of 2007, the sales volume of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Corp., Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck Corporation and Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd reached 9,546 units, 6,055 units and 7,001 units separately, with a respective year-on-year growth of 48.9%, 74.3% and 120.6%.
It is forecasted that the structural growth of heavy truck will continue in the second half of 2007. Particularly, weight-calculating charge is the real reason for the good sale of heavy trucks. Before 2008, the charge-by-weight will be more widely carried out in China, which will conduce to the sound development of heavy truck industry.
