The apple planting area amounted to 28.35 million mu in 2005, and the total output of apples reached 24.02 million tons, accounting for 38.59% in the total output in the world. Shandong and Shaanxi are two main producing regions in China, and the output of both accounts for 51% in the total output in China.
Currently, China has become the largest concentrated apple juice production and export country around the world. The concentrated apple juice export volume in China amounted to 673 thousand tons in 2006, accounting for 47.54% in the world. China has become the main product provider in the global apple juice consumption market.
The apple output amounted to about 25 million tons in China in 2006, up 4-5% y-o-y, which guaranteed raw material supply for the production expansion of apple processing enterprises. It is forecasted that the apple juice output will reach 950 thousand tons in China grinding season during 2006-2007, increasing 35% compared to the previous grinding season. Meanwhile, the apple output will reach 26.46 million tons in 2010 if calculating by the current apple planting area.
