Since the beginning of 2007, there has been a fast growth for commercial vehicles. In Jan-Apr 2007, the accumulated production and sales grew about 23%, higher than that of passenger vehicles in the same period.
China's self-owned brand sedans done well, and about 449.7 thousand sedans were sold in Jan-Apr 2007, taking a share of 29.31% of total sedan sales. The figure was 3.21 percentage points higher than that of Japan-made sedans.
In the first quarter of 2007, China's import & export value of automotive products amounted to USD 13.361 billion, of which the imported value was USD 5.362 billion, up 18.46% year-on-year; and the exported value was USD 7.999 billion, up 36.30% from a year earlier. In Jan-Mar 2007, 99,800 complete vehicles were exported, rising 59.32% over the same period of last year.
