With the functions such as the extraction, transmission and improvement of fluid energy, fans are widely applied in nearly all national economic fields. According to the statistics, the power consumption of fan products accounts for around 10% of national total power generation. Noticeably, the power consumption of fans accounts for 30% of national total power consumption for mining industry, 20% for the iron & steel industry and 17% for the coal industry. So, the energy saving and environmental protection should be paid more attention for China fan industry
During Jan-May 2006, the total industrial output value got to RMB 9.773866 billion (current price), increased by 11.45% over the same period of 2005 and, the sales value amounted to RMB 8.517458 billion, up by 11% year-on-year. Additionally, the delivery value of exported products totaled RMB 239.09 million, increased by 11%, the industrial value-added RMB 3.064458 billion with 20%, and the total profits RMB 536.137 million with 9%.

Statistically, the exports of China fan industry maintains at low level although the delivery value of major fan enterprises increased by 20% compared with the same period of 2005. Overall, the export value only accounts for 2.4% of total output value.
Historically, the export products were mainly led by medium-small fan motors and fan accessories and, centrifugal fans, roots fans and centrifugal compressors were mostly exported to developing countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, North Korea, Iran, Sudan, Albania and Mongolia, etc. So, it can be concluded that the export will still lie in the fields of medium-small fan products in the next few years.
Fan product can be divided into two categories: large-quantity and widely-applied medium and small fans and technology-intensive fans including turbine compressor, centrifugal fan and roots fan. With regard to medium and small fans, there are numerous manufacturers and the demands are quite strong. But the supply of such sorts of fans will still exceed the market demand in spite of a fast growth for the demand in the next few years. With respect to large-size turbine compressor, centrifugal fan and roots fan, there is an increasing demand for the capacity of products. Since special materials are utilized in anti-corrosion fan, high-temperature fan and anti-explosion fan, there will be a growth in the demand for stainless steel fan, GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) fan, plastic fan, aluminum impeller fan, axial fan with aluminum casting blade and titanium fan, etc.
