China Boiler and Prime Mover Manufacturing Industry is neither "sunrise industry" nor "sun-setting industry". And in fact it is an industry with sustained development. After entry into 21st century, Chinese economy has witnessed great changes. Of these, greater changes took place in China boiler and prime mover manufacturing industry, and it has formed the ability to independently research & develop new products with technical performance having approached the level of developed countries. Totally speaking, both boilers and prime movers are indispensable goods for economic development now.

In 2006 China Mechanical Facilities Manufacturing Industry still kept a stable and rapid growth. And affected by rapid growth of investment, great supports for independent innovations from governments and speed-up of upgrading trends of industrial technologies, machinery industry got a favorable environment and industry growth boom also kept prosperous. Furthermore, gross industrial output values growth rate of Mechanical General Equipment Manufacturing Industry also got adjusted slightly. And in fact growth rate of industrial output values of Boiler and Prime Mover Manufacturing Industry, as its sub-sector, has declined by 13.85 percentage points year-on-year; and following it growth rate of sales revenues has declined by 9 percentage points but still keeping at 20% above. And finally industrial output values and sale revenues of Boiler and Prime Mover Manufacturing Industry realized RMB 186.1 billion and 173.1 billion respectively. 

In 2006, growth rate of industrial products yield in Boiler and Prime Mover Manufacturing Industry speeded up. In detail, industrial boilers cumulatively realized 175,000 tons, up by 11.26% year-on-year; power plant boilers cumulatively realized 409,000 tons, up by 9.31% year-on-year; internal-combustion engines cumulatively realized 4521.7 billion KW, up by 19.56% year-on-year; and metal cutting machine tools cumulatively realized 562,000 sets, up by 14.58% year-on-year.
