August 26 -- Dongfeng Automobile (600006) reported that its net profit fell 22.97 percent year-on-year to 295 million yuan in the first half of 2011, with earnings per share of 0.1473 yuan, reports p5w.net, citing a company filing.
Revenue rose 14.8 percent year-on-year to 11.11 billion yuan during the reporting period.
Dongfeng Automobile’s net profit drop was blamed on the rising price of logistics, tires and labor.
Dongfeng Automobile is a top-four Chinese automobile manufacturer. The company produces commercial and passenger vehicles, as well as Dongfeng Cummins engines and parts. Dongfeng has joint ventures with Nissan, Peugeot-Citroen and Honda.
