2008 Taste of Australia Wine Showcase was held in Chengdu(China)

Austrade Representative Office in China held the 2008 Taste of Australia Wine Showcase in Chengdu on March 20. More than 20 Australian wineries and Chinese agents took part in it.

In recent years, chinese wine market developed fast. More and more varieties of Australian wine were launched to China. Lots of Australian wineries had been trying to find Chinese partners. In 2007, instead of Japan, China became the biggest export market of Australian wine in Asia. On the other hand, Australia was China's second biggest supplier. In 2007, Australia exported wine over 17.9 million liters in volume and about 55.7 million AU dollars by value.

Austrade Representative office in China held the Taste of Australia Wine Showcase in Chengdu, Kunming, Guangzhou and Shenzhen from March 20 to 28 in order to attract Chinese wine lovers.
