HUANENG Power International Inc, a unit of the nation's largest power producer by capacity, said its first-quarter profit may have fallen by more than 50 percent because of rising coal prices.
The company's power generation rose 18.6 percent to 46.1 million megawatt-hours in the first three months ended March 31, it said yesterday.
