Most Taiwan-based LED chip, packaging and leadframe makers have posted strong revenues for May 2010, with Formosa Epitaxy leading with the highest on-year growth of 179%, according to data released by the companies.
Formosa Epitaxy said it will add two MOCVD machines in the second quarter of 2010 to ramp up its capacity, and is expecting its revenues to grow over 50% sequentially in the quarter.
LED packaging company Harvatek's May revenues of NT$330 million (US$10.25 million) were the company's highest monthly record. The company plans to ramp up its packaging capacity to 750 million LED chips in the third quarter, the company noted.
