US-based 3M is showcasing a range of multi-touch, 3D and USB 3.0 display solutions, as well as its DBEF (dual brightness enhancement film) applications at Display Taiwan 2010.
The company is exhibiting a 9-inch naked-eye 3D display, a 9-inch 3D digital photo frame, and a 20-point multi-touch display.
It claims that its 18.5-inch USB 3.0-driven monitor, which is powered through the USB port, can save 50% power compared to ordinary models of the same size.
Displays using 3M DBEF will cut power-consumption by 30% and reduce LED count in backlight units (BLUs) also by 30%, the company said. Industry sources said the Apple iPad features 3M's DBEF.
