Taiwan-headquartered drug delivery device design and manufacturing company, SHL, has developed a pre-configured auto injector, designed for use by biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. The "Molly" is an intuitive device featuring an ultra-compact design, simplified two-step operation and a permanently hidden needle, according to the company.

The device is the product of collaborative efforts of SHL teams in Sweden, Taiwan, and the USA, with key development/design work already standardized to accelerate speed-to-market for customers, and utilizes state-of-the-art safety and ergonomic features, according to the company.

SHL plans to officially introduce Molly at the PDA Conference in Las Vegas, USA on Oct 18-19, 2010. The phrase "Meet Molly" will be used during the launch, and the campaign will focus on the concepts of speed-to-market, compactness, and simplicity.

In addition, Molly will be featured at the PDA Conference in Berlin, Germany on October 26-28, 2010. Mats Persson, SHL's Vice President of SHL Medical Europe will be speaking at the conference and a display area will be set up during the three-day event to help targeted audiences better understand how Molly works.

An extensive marketing campaign is now underway and a dedicated website (www.meetmolly.com) has been set up to give potential customers a better understanding of how the device works and what makes it unique. At both PDA events a limited number of Molly auto injector sample kits will be available for attendees, according to the company.
