China-Biotics, a manufacturer of pro-biotic drugs in China, is showing “strong momentum for its products” according to analysts Stock Call.

'China-Biotics delivered strong quarterly results on back of robust performance of bulk additive products. During the quarter, the company expanded the margins and bottom line. The company expanded its retail business which boosted the revenues. In addition, the successful amalgamation of bulk additives facility facilitated to quickly ramp up production to meet high demand from dairy producers and animal feed manufacturers', the report said.

The rising demand for probiotics is one of the most interesting trends amongst pharmaceutical companies. Probiotics are helpful bacteria and are often used to help the immune system and aid digestion. Probiotics are most commonly found in yogurts, baby formulas and pills but the uses are expanding. To date, the probiotics industry has grown almost 20 percent in the past year with Asian demand leading the way.
