BWA to invest USD 50 mln in China's Internet market

BroadWebAsia (BWA), a US Internet company partnered with 20 Chinese Internet companies, plans to invest USD 50 mln on acquisition, investment and transaction in the Chinese Internet market.

The 20 partners have a combined total of more than 20 mln visitors a month and are primarily focused on social networking, entertainment and Internet search.

BWA's first portfolio company, BBMAO.com, is the first meta-search engine focusing on China. The website has more than 70,000 unique users a day.

The company's founder Brad Greenspan also invested in MySpace.com and eUniverse (later renamed Intermix Media), which provides viral communications and an entertainment network.
