Gansu Jiu Steel Group Hongxing Iron and Steel announced that its net profit surged 107.44% year on year to RMB 902 million in the first half of this year. Earnings per share were RMB 0.22 in the first half, as per the report released from the company. The steel producer's total operating revenue surged 41.59% year on year to RMB 27.96 billion during the period.

In the first six months, Gansu Jiu Steel Group produced 3.66 million metric tons of pig iron, which accounted for 46.62% of its target for this year. The output of crude steel and steel products were 4.38 million metric tons and 4.27 million metric tons during the period, accounting for 47.89% and 47.69% of the firm's target for this year.
