It is estimated that China will produce about 490 million tons of grain in 2006, and grain prices will steadily grow in 2007.
Though more grain will be yielded this year, still it will not be able to meet the fast-growing consumption needs, and China will have to use its grain stock to make ends meet.
Rice price will grow because the domestic needs for rice tend to grow faster, and the fast development of rice processing industry will lay heavy pressure on the country's agriculture, too. Maize price will definitely soar, as transportation cost will increase more and more, and international maize price is rising, too.
