After several years' effort, wine production of Penglai reaches 80 thousand ton, accounting for 20% of China wine production. Out of five bottles of domestic wine, there is one made in Penglai.

Leading companies promote the wine industry in Penglai. Many famous wine companies built vineyard in Penglai, including Greatwall, Suntime, Dynasty, Shangrila, Philippines Conda, Deautsch Aerma, Britain Denglong. French Lafite Chateau plans to invest a chateau in Penglai, in its first stage the area is 800 mu, in the second stage reaches 7500 mu. Lafife owns ten Chateau globally, but this is the first Chateau in China.

Having a long history of grape wine making, Penglai is a major region in China.Penglai regin located in the north of Jiaodong peninsula, where red varieties can grow very well. Now the main varieties in Penglai are Chardonnay, Riesling and Ugni Blanc.

To 2010 vineyard in Penglai will reach 250 thousand mu, wine production will reach 250 thiusand ton. At the same time wine travel is developed actively, travelers will appreciate its distinctive wine culture.
