RTM will enter into a tie-up soon with China Central Television (CCTV), one of the biggest television stations in China.
The tie-up would indirectly enhance Malaysia-China bilateral ties.
Through this tie-up, CCTV and RTM would exchange economic, cultural and tourism-related programmes.
However, the CCTV, set up in 1958, was not keen to air political programmes to avoid being accused of interfering in Malaysian politics.
Besides CCTV, China Radio International (CRI) has also expressed interest to work with RTM to strengthen its Malay language station in China.
The radio station had Malay programme listeners in China.
On the "Syahadah" documentary being aired by RTM in conjunction with the Ramadan holy month now, it received encouraging response, including from Chinese Muslims and non-Muslims.
The documentary would indirectly romp home the message to Malaysian Chinese that Kuala Lumpur and Beijing enjoyed close bilateral ties.
