   Date:2006/12/31

Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile Co. Ltd., Toyota Motor Co.'s Chinese partner, said it expected its net profit to rise 50 to 100 percent in the first nine months of 2006 from a year earlier, boosted by higher sales.

The profit outlook compared to 149.42 million yuan ($18.9 million) in the nine months through September of last year, FAW Xiali said in a statement on Oct 9.

The car maker in August posted a three-fold rise in first-half net profit. It said it had expected its earnings to jump by roughly 200 percent.

FAW Xiali, based in the northern port city of Tianjin, is scheduled to release interim results on Oct. 27.
