A Shenzhen company has developed China's first chef robot, named AI Cooking Robot, and exhibited it on Oct 8. The robot is able to cook Chinese food in different regional flavors, including that of Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong and Sichuan, which is famous for its spicy food and hot pot.

As well, the robotic chef has mastered all types of traditional Chinese cooking styles, from frying, steaming, grilling and stewing, among others.

The robot simply scans a bar code that contains the ingredients and directions, and cooks it just like an experienced chef. It can even simulate Chinese chefs' cooking movements.

Though it looks like a huge refrigerator, it's a fully automated robot.

It may provide solutions for the Chinese fast food industry.

The company will introduce it to the market by the middle of next year.
