SINGAPORE, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Honda is recalling more than 10, 000 cars in Singapore to fix a malfunction in the power window master switch of the driver's side window, its distributor said on Tuesday.
Kah Motor, exclusive distributors of Honda cars in Singapore, said that the malfunction relates to 6,119 units of the 2005 to 2008 Honda Jazz, and 1,657 units of the 2006 to 2008 Honda City.
The Land Transport Authority said 2,798 Honda Fit vehicles are affected by the recalls.
Local Channel NewsAsia said the driver side power switch malfunction is due to inadequate resin material. This could cause the resin material to heat up and burn the power window switch, which controls all windows in the vehicle.
Kah Motor said the switch will be replaced and the procedure will take about 30 minutes.
The global recall announced by Honda earlier could affect 936, 000 vehicles worldwide.
