Swiss packaging company SIG said it would sell 12 high-speed milk bottling machines to China's Inner Mongolia Mengniu Dairy Industry.

The sale follows an earlier deal with Mengniu for seven high-speed filling machines in its new facility in Baoji in the Shaanxi province of China.

The machines can fill up to 12,000 cartons per hour, mainly with long-life milk and joghurt drinks, SIG said.

SIG said it would increase local production of packaging material in China due to growing demand for aseptic cartons through an investment worth up to 60 million euros ($75.30 million) by 2009.
