Automobile manufacturers in Mainland China produced 1.393 million vehicles and sold 1.381 million vehicles in August, representing month-on-month increase of 6.66% and 8.29% respectively or year-on-year rise of 8.72% and 4.15% respectively, according to statistics of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

For the eight months through August, automobile production and sales totalled 11.855 million units and 11.984 million units, up 3.04% and 3.33% respectively compared to a year ago.
