aguar Land Rover to expand Chinese sales network by end of year

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 20) - Jaguar Land Rover plans to expand its dealer network in the country from 60 outlets to 100 by the end of the year, Bruce Robertson, executive sales and service director for the company's Chinese branch, was quoted by the Beijing Morning Post as saying at the floor of the Chengdu Motor Show. Mr. Robertson added that the company had 40 new models in the works, the majority of which were destined for China.

According to Mr. Robertson (pictured), Jaguar Land Rover sold 270,000 vehicles in China since he beginning of this year, growing nearly 60 percent. The country has already become one of the most important markets for the company. In the upcoming five years, Jaguar Land Rover looks to invest nearly 1.5 billion pounds sterling ($2.36b) to expand its product line, with a portion of that money going to establishing a new R&D team in China to better understand the demands of the country's consumers.

Jaguar China's Executive Vice President Anthony Bradbury and Land Rover China's Executive Vice President Hu Bo were also in attendance at the event.
