WPP Group Plc, the world's second-biggest advertising and marketing firm, said it had made four acquisitions in Asia, including one in China.
"Greater China is one of the fastest-growing markets for WPP, providing the company with the highest amount of revenues from the region amongst its competitors," the firm said in a statement.
WPP said it had taken a majority stake in Bangalore-based Ray + Keshavan Design Associates Private Ltd, 70 percent of the share capital of Beijing-based Century Harmony Advertising Co. Ltd.
It said that in the case of Century Harmony, the move continues the group's regional strategy in mainland China.
China's government has relaxed rules on advertising joint ventures and also recently loosened limits on investment in other areas of the service industry, such as human resources.
