BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- It's that time of year again for Hong Kong's top gift, housewares, and toy shows, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in Wanchai, the premier downtown venue. Mega Show Part 1, running October 20-23, and Mega Show Part 2, October 27-29 are two very important trade shows for the industries displaying the goods.

They are also part of a 20th anniversary celebration, according to Kenfair, the organizer, which said it is proud of the event and wishes to thank all the exhibitors and buyers who have shown their support over the past two decades.

The two shows are carefully timed as a crucial part of the successful South China sourcing calendar. This allows the more than 70,000 global buyers who are expected to attend both the trade shows, and visit the mainland and Hong Kong factories to meet with a wide range of Asian and international suppliers.

More than 4,600 suppliers will be on hand for the events to confirm Hong Kong's status as the major global marketplace for gifts, souvenirs, gadgets, electronic items, arts and crafts, luggage, fashion apparel and accessories, packaging, home dcor, toys and games, and pens, paper and stationery for schools and offices.

The companies come from the mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, of course, but from everywhere else as well: Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Israel, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

This year's shows will include more eco-friendly suppliers than before, with a wider choice of products. There is also a dedicated zone in Mega Show Part 1 for gift-wrapping and packaging, and a new group of fashion jewelry and accessories suppliers, in the gift-ware area in Mega Show Part 2.

Over 800 new companies from across Asia and beyond have exhibits this season, with Mega Show as their major sales platform and means of giving trade buyers the opportunity to meet with familiar exporters and new producers as well, and to trade with companies from around the world under one roof, in the center of Asian sourcing.
