Book On City's Economy Draws Praise

   Date:2011/10/31

THE efforts of Shanghai Daily and the Oriental Morning Post paid off yesterday as delegates at the meeting of the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council confirmed the value of a book that collected opinions on how to improve Shanghai's business environment.

"It is good," said Martin Sorrell, chief executive officer at WPP, the world's largest marketing group. "So many industries are covered in this book and it should be a loyal reflection of the city's business environment."

Jacob Wallenberg, chairman of Investor AB, also applauded the efforts and said he would read the book carefully as "change of information is always good."

Top government leaders in the city, including Mayor Han Zheng, also received copies of the book.

The bilingual, 50-page book was the only publication offered to more than 500 delegates at the 23rd meeting of the IBLAC.

Based on a pre-forum survey, the book "Overseas Perspective On Shanghai's Business Environment" collects constructive opinion and advice from senior executives at multinational companies and overseas financial media professionals working in Shanghai.
