BEIJING, NOV 5 (APP): China is propelling cultural industry as pillar of its national economy by holding a grand summit of the National Festival here in Chinese People’s Political and Consultative Auditorium, said an official on Saturday.The organizing of the summit, the second in series was a significant step for inheriting national and traditional culture and promoting the integrated development of nation’s regional economy and culture. It also signifies great importance for implementing the spirit of 17 Sessions of 5th CCP Plenary Conferences, motivating the prosperity and development, and realizing the culture strategy.
Leaders from Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and related ministries and commissions, over 100 delegates of ethnic groups and over 80 well known experts in the field of national culture and festival industry attended this summit.
The second China National Festival Summit was hosted by CUAES (China Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences), and IFEA (International Festival and Events Association) under the guidance of State Ethnic Affairs Commission,Culture Ministry and National Tourism Administration, and is undertaken by China National Festival committee of CUAES and China brand of IFEA.
The awards list for performers in “2011 Outstanding National Festival” was released on the occasion. The award list was selected from over 400 festivals activities.
The activity is aimed at building brand of Chinese festivals, promoting China outstanding national festivals spreading to the world and enhancing the soft power of Chinese culture.
The winners have the opportunity to compete for the IFEA International Festival Award under the aegis of IFEA.
On the occasion the 2011 National Festival Achievement exhibition and 2011 Outstanding National Festival were held.
Chinese nation is a big family formed by 56 nationalities with time-honored history and splendid culture. National festival is the inheritance of outstanding culture in the process of nation development and also the embodiment of national spirits. Nowadays, national festival is not only an important events of inheriting and promoting ethnic culture, the spiritual tie of various nationalities, but also taking the responsibility of motivating regional tourism and the development of economy and society.
