China's electricity generation grew by 14.4% on year to 232.4 billion kilowatt-hours in October; data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics showed.
The jump in electricity output is in line with the country's economic growth, which is projected be up by over 10% this year compared with last year.
China's electricity growth, however, will likely slow in the coming months, due to macroeconomic controls and energy-conservation policies imposed by the government.
China's electricity demand is expected to grow 12.0%-12.5% this year, but this will be about 1.0-1.5 percentage points slower than last year, according to a statement by the country's top economic planning agency in August.
