Yonghui Superstores Opens 49 New Stores in 2011

With its rush of opening six stores by the end of 2011, Yonghui Superstores opened a total of 49 new stores in the year, close to its annual target of 50. The retailer’s business formats are also becoming more varied with its rising store counts.
 
Yonghui Superstores opened 49 new stores and closed 1 store (which was a community store, beside which a larger one was opened), making its total store count to 204, with a net increase of 48, or 31%. The retailer signed on additional 104 stores that were not opened for business yet.
 
With its expansion, Yonghui’s business covered more areas in China. Compared with the five provinces and municipalities (Fujian, Anhui, Guizhou, Chongqing and Beijing) in 2010, it had stores in 12 provinces and municipalities, such as Tianjin, Hebei, Jiangsu and Liaoning, in 2011. In addition, it signed on stores in another 4 four provinces—Guangdong, Sichuan, Zhejiang and Shaanxi.
