Yanmar America has announced that it has finalized the acquisition of Mastry Marine and Industrial Supply Inc. which is renamed Mastry Engine Center LLC. It is now part of the Yanmar family. The transaction was finalized on Feb. 13.

Mastry Engine Center is a 50-year-old, family-owned business based in St. Petersburg, Fla. It is a Yanmar marine and industrial engine distributor and specializes in diesel repowers, powertrain applications and complete diesel and gas solutions for the marine and industrial markets. The company owns a network of more than 140 authorized dealers throughout the southeastern United States and the Caribbean.

“This is an important acquisition for us, because it will help to ensure that Yanmar develops a stronger understanding of our marine and industrial customer needs,” said Ted Bregar, president of Yanmar America, Adairsville, Ga. “Mastry’s expertise at understanding our customers’ needs will help Yanmar expand the products and services we offer to our valued distributors and dealers throughout the Americas.”

“I am pleased, and I know my father would be proud, that Mastry now is part of such a respected and recognized brand as Yanmar,” said Tino Mastry, president of Mastry Engine Center LLC. “We are bringing our experience to an already solid network of distributors and dealers in the Yanmar family.”

Yanmar said the current Mastry organization will remain in place. Tino Mastry will continue in his role as president and will report to Bregar.
