It is reported that CNH will invest $600 million to build a new construction equipment plant in Montes Carlos in Brazil.
And the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State of Minas Gerais. According to the agreement operations at the plant are likely to begin by 2014 and the plant is expected to create 2,700 jobs. Of this 2,000 jobs will be created by a direct supplier of parts and components which will also be located within the vicinity of the plant. The total vicinity of the plant is likely to cover an area of 2 million sq.m of which 700 sq.m will be used up for the plant. With this plant, the company will expand its presence from its already existing plant in Contagem. The site at Contagem was set up in the year 1970 and was the first Fiat factory to be located in Brazil. This plant is responsible for the production of major brands of CNH which include New Holland Construction and Case. CNH works through 11,300 dealers located in 170 countries.
