Mazda Motor Corp., hoping to revive its flagging sales in China, will unveil its CX-4 crossover next month at the Beijing auto show.
The CX-4 features Mazda's Skyactiv direct-injection powertrain technology and signature Kodo design language, the Japanese automaker said this week.
The five-door sporty crossover will be built at Mazda's joint venture with China FAW Group Corp. in the northeast China city of Changchun. Initially it will be sold only in China.
Further details about the vehicle have yet to be disclosed.
Crossovers are in strong demand in China, and Mazda needs the CX-4 to revive its slumping sales in the country. In the first two months, Mazda delivered 38,855 vehicles in China, down 4.1 percent from the same period last year.
