Audi, Porsche and Skoda deliveries increase through March

   Date:2016/04/15
Three of Volkswagen Group's brands -- Audi, Porsche and Skoda -- reported rising volumes in China for the first three months, a sign that VW is pulling out of a sales slump that affected automakers last year.

The German automaker's namesake Volkswagen brand -- the top-selling foreign brand in China -- has not yet announced March sales.

Audi's China sales rose 5.4 percent year on year to 50,986 vehicles in March. For the first three months, Audi sales were up 4.7 percent to 139,540.

Porsche continued to outperform China's luxury market, with sales jumping nearly 24 percent year on year to 16,409 vehicles in the first three months. Porsche did not provide March sales data.

Volkswagen's sports car brand has had great success selling its Cayenne and Macan crossovers. China has become Porsche's biggest market, ahead of the United States and Germany.

Skoda says deliveries edged up 1.3 percent to 25,600 vehicles in March. In the first three months, Skoda sales in China rose 5.2 percent to 75,400 vehicles.
