Volkswagen AG will unveil a luxury SUV concept at the upcoming Beijing auto show that the automaker says will move the company in a "high-tech direction."
VW unveiled four teaser photos of the "sporty and elegant" plug-in hybrid concept on Monday.
The exterior design appears to feature narrow headlights and heavy use of LED lighting. VW said the interior has been designed in a "lounge style" with merged infotainment and active information displays.
The vehicle's powertrain generates 376 horsepower and 516 pounds-feet of torque, Volkswagen said in a statement. It has a fully electric range up to 50 kilometers, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 6 seconds.
In January, the automaker unveiled a plug-in hybrid concept version of its Tiguan crossover at the Detroit auto show.
