Dealership stockpiles across China declined in March to a 47-day supply from 60 days in February as sales recovered in the wake of the week-long Lunar New Year holiday in February.

 

During the month, inventories of foreign-brand vehicles built in China dropped to 43 days from 60 days the previous month, according to the China Automobile Dealers Association.

 

Stockpiles of imported vehicles also decreased to 53 days from 74 days in the previous month.

 

But inventories of domestic Chinese brands rose to 53 days from 45 days in February.

 

In March, BYD had the highest dealership inventories, with a 94-day backlog. It was followed by SAIC Motor Corp.'s Roewe brand, which had a 73-day stockpile. Infiniti was third highest with enough inventory to last 65 days.
