Citroen to Launch 34 New Models in the Chinese Market in the Following Five Years

Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd in China released strategic plan yesterday, aiming at revenue of RMB 100 billion yuan and production of 34 new models including six of alternative energy vehicles until 2020.
 
Quality-driven development attracts Citroen to aim at improving quality of products and scale of production instead of sales. After investing on the development of technology and products, Citroen will launch 34 new models including six of alternative energy vehicles in the following five. Each brand of Citroen will at least develop one or two new models every year. It will continue to launch more new models of SUV. The plan to expand products layout drive Citroen to invest on the launch of models of MPV. The potential segment of LCV also seems attractive for Citroen.
 
Low brand competitiveness of French automakers encourages Citroen to aim at developing uniqueness of its brands to meet diversified demands of customers in China. Citroen also aims at develop other services related to automotive industry including second-hand trades and vehicle renting business. Until 2015, sales and production of Citroen have doubled that in 2011 and have grown with yearly rise of more than 13.9% in average every year.
 
Citroen may focus on development of models of alternative energy vehicles on the eCMP platform. More than ten models haven been launched on the eCMP platform and will be put into mass production in 2019. Launching models on the eCMP may enable Citroen to reduce the cost by about 40%.
