Data released by CPCA shows that the wholesales sales volume (for domestic vehicles, including exported cars, imported cars excluded) reached 908,730 units in April, decreasing 0.7%, less than the previous data. Influenced by SUVs and small-sized vehicles, B-class cars’ sales volume further slumped, with only five models selling more than 10,000 units. The highest sales belong to VW Magotan, 12,454 units, while Passat lost champion again with a sales volume of only 11,504 units. Luxury brands such as Audi A4L, BMW Series3 have increased their sales in varying degrees.
Japanese brands have different performances in April. Benefited from price cuts, Honda Accord ranks top 3 with sales of 11,402 units, increasing 11.1%. Teana and Camry have decreasing sales of 7,525 and 7,416 units, declining 22.1% and 29.0% respectively.
American brands have a general decrease in April. Influenced by shaft rupture and dealerships’ defection, Mondeo declined 21.9% sales to 7,128 units. La Crosse sold 5,092 units in April, decreasing 23.4%. Regal has a sales volume of 5,107 units, decreasing 32.9%. Malibu also declined 5.9% of the sales to 4,709 units.
Korean brands, including Mistra, Sonata, KIA all experienced sales decline, the same as American brands. KIA K4 and K5 slumped 60% and 70% respectively, with the volume reaching 2,054 and 1,138 units.
Led by ABB, luxury brands accelerate seizing B-class market. Second-tier luxury brands also perform well, with Cadillac ATS-L4 increasing 8.4% to 2,258 units and Volvo increasing 26.9% to 2,158 units.
Geely GC9 is the only spotlight among all self-owned brands, selling 4,472 units in April. Its monthly sales maintain to be 4,000 to 5,000 units after the promotion period.
