Buick last week introduced an updated version of the Encore subcompact crossover, which has enjoyed strong sales in China's fastest-growing market segment.
The redesigned Encore is the smallest of Buick's three crossovers sold in China. It is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine and with a choice of a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The Encore has a standard stop-start system, upgraded interior, LED headlights and taillights, all-wheel drive and five trim levels priced from 139,900 yuan to 189,900 yuan ($21,264 to $28,864).
Buick has been a strong performer in China, its biggest global market. In May, Buick deliveries in China jumped 61 percent year over year to 100,864 vehicles.
