German supplier FEV Group opened an r&d center in Beijing to develop powertrains for customers.
The 10,000 square-meter operation houses eight test benches and office space for 150 employees.
The company also operates a test center in Dalian, which opened in 2004, and a design office in Shanghai that began operating in 2008.
FEV, which is based in Aachen, Germany, employs 4,000 specialists in technical centers in Europe, Asia, North America and South America.
The firm offers engineering expertise to design and build prototypes of gasoline engines, diesels and electric powertrains.
