Ford sales rise 6% in first half on Lincoln, commercial truck volume

Ford Motor Co.'s China deliveries rose 6 percent year on year to 577,097 vehicles in the first half of the year as the Lincoln luxury brand posted strong growth and commercial truck demand rebounded.
 
Sales at Changan Ford, Ford's passenger vehicle joint venture, increased 4 percent in June to 64,377 vehicles. For the year to date, the joint venture's deliveries advanced 10 percent year on year to 434,645 vehicles.
 
Jiangling Motors Corp., Ford's commercial vehicle partnership, reported sales increased 5 percent to 19,351 vehicles. In the first half, the partnership's sales dropped 7 percent to 121,514 vehicles.
 
But demand for imported Ford-brand models plunged 45 percent last month to 1,377 vehicles. In the first six months, sales of imported Ford-brand vehicles declined 43 percent to 8,488 vehicles.
 
The automaker did not report total Ford-brand sales in June.
 
Sales at Lincoln, Ford's luxury brand, nearly tripled in the first six months to 12,450 vehicles as the brand continued to add new dealerships in China. Lincoln's June sales were not released.
