CHINA Huaneng Group said it will increase its electricity generating capacity 17 percent this year to meet rising domestic demand.　

The country's leading power company will add 10,000 megawatts of capacity in 2007, President Li Xiaopeng said. Beijing-based Huaneng had 57,185 megawatts of generating capacity at the end of 2006.
