In the China market during the fourth quarter of 2006, B2B (business to business e-commerce services) and C2C (customer to customer on-line auction services) web portals generated an estimated total transaction values of 629 million yuan (US$80 million) and 8.27 billion yuan (US$1.05 billion) respectively.
The Chinese government has been increasingly participating in domestic B2B business transactions, especially those through platforms set up by industry organizations and state-run enterprises.
