CHINA National Offshore Oil Corp will build its first natural gas liquefaction facility to produce liquefied natural gas in southern city of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.　　

The project will start operations by the end of the year and be able to process about 600,000 cubic meters of natural gas to produce 360 tons of LNG per day.

The facility will chill gas from three blocks in nearby Huizhou and Panyu. The company said the project could help make full use of the nearby offshore gas reserves and benefit areas unconnected by pipelines.
