China to build six airports in northeast China

   Date:2007/04/19

China plans to build six civil airports in northeast China during the 11th Five-Year Plan period. Mohe Airport in Heilongjiang province is already under construction and will be ready next year. Mohe is located deep in the forest, and currently depends primarily on the railway for outside contact. It is approximately 10 hours from the nearest traffic hub - Jiagedaqi. It then takes another 20 hours to reach Harbin.

Once the new airport is completed, the flying time between Harbin to China's "arctic pole village" will be approximately two hours. This will significantly reduce the travel time for those going to see the Aurora.
