CHINA Oilfield Services Ltd, a unit of the nation's third-largest oil producer has won a contract to collect seismic data for Husky Energy Inc. China Oilfield will survey parts of the eastern South China Sea for six months where water depth ranges from 200 meters to 1,000 meters, the Beijing-based company said on its Website.

It is the largest seismic data collection project for the company since its listing, China Oilfield said, without disclosing the amount. China Oilfield is buying equipment and expanding its fleet as China, the world's second-biggest energy consumer, intensifies the search for oil and gas beneath its coastal waters to counter stagnant output from older fields on shore.
