China: Xiwang Sugar Crystallized Fructose-Glucose Factory to Open in June

China's Xiwang Sugar Holdings Co. plans to start producing crystallized fructose-glucose upon completion of a new plant in June.


Wang Yong, chairman of the company, told "Dow Jones Newswires" that the firm's annual output of crystallized fructose-glucose could reach 30,000 tons this year, with a gross profit margin of 25-30%.

 

Xiwang Sugar will reportedly be the world's first producer of crystallized fructose-glucose, a sweetener made from corn and can be use in food and beverages.

 

Last month, Xiwang Sugar Holdings reported its FY 2006 results. Turnover increased by approximately 33.5% to approximately RMB1, 384.9 million and overall gross profit margin increased to approximately 26.4%, the company said in a statement.
